1-13-26   THOUGHTS

At my age, I find strong identification with Peter’s words in our reading today.  Being established in the truth is necessary.  Eph 3:17-19   “so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18  may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19  and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.”  Reminding is a great word!  It is something we must do with each other!  It’s part of God’s FELLOWSHIP idea!

2Pet 1:12-15   Therefore, I will always be ready to remind you of these things, even though you already know them, and have been established in the truth which is present with you.  13  I consider it right, as long as I am in this earthly dwelling, to stir you up by way of reminder,  14  knowing that the laying aside of my earthly dwelling is imminent, as also our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.  15  And I will also be diligent that at any time after my departure you will be able to call these things to mind.

Our Prayer:
O God, may we be reminded always of Your Glory and Love and Goodness as we practice Your presence in our daily living.  May “the call to mind” be ready and powerful to supply our needs as we bear fruit in the Kingdom. Stir us up and awaken us each day, Father God.  Ever help us to live intentionally, and effectively as we seek to influence our world for You.  In the name of our Savior,   Amen.
